The Journey of Sunjai Williams: Bringing In Real Estate

Sunjai D. Williams is a name that you might recognize. From dancing to acting and real estate, she has shown that she is a force to be reckoned with. Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, Sunjai comes from a family that instilled the importance of hard work, determination, and family values in her. In this exclusive interview, Sunjai shares with us her journey from being a Dancing Doll to a successful real estate agent.

Growing up, Sunjai was surrounded by love, care, and support. Her parents kept her active by enrolling her in dance classes, singing classes, swimming lessons, and summer camps. She was also a Girl Scout, which added to the mix of activities that she loved. Sunjai attributes her success to her family's support, stating, "I'm definitely blessed and grateful to have both of my parents active in my life and my siblings lives as well."

Sunjai started dancing at the age of 5 and quickly fell in love with the art form. Her parents encouraged her to pursue her passion and put her on her first dance team. "My parents are the reasons why I started dancing. They put me on my first dance team, and I eventually became Co-Captain and fell in love with majorette. Dancing became a passion of mine, and it runs in the family.” Her dad danced with a step group, and her mom did ballet, jazz, tap, flag, and majorette. Sunjai's passion for dance eventually led her to become a Dancing Doll, one of the most prestigious dance teams in the South. Sunjai auditioned and made it onto the team, pushing through boot camp to become captain over the new girls. "I absolutely loved that my sisters and I shared the same passion. It brought me comfort and joy to see all three of us dancing and doing something that we loved together. I knew that I had to do my best because the twins were watching their big sister, and I had to lead by example. To see my sisters blossom over the years in dance has made me so proud. Me as well as so many others have witnessed their growth."

Sunjai's life took an exciting turn when she was cast in the hit reality TV show "Bring It Lifetime." Being a celebrity had its perks and challenges. Sunjai's life as a celebrity in high school was normal, as she grew up with the same people she went to school with. However, in college, she experienced a different kind of attention from people who wanted to take pictures with her but Sunjai remained humble and took pictures whenever she could.

After college, Sunjai returned home to Jackson, Mississippi, where she started her entrepreneurial journey. Sunjai's father introduced her to real estate, and she decided to pursue a career in it. "Trying to get certified in real estate required me to take a pre-licensing real estate class, and once that class was completed, I had to take a class test. After passing that test, I had to study hard and take the national and state exam, which by the way was not easy at all.” Sunjai passed the state and national exams in real estate within her first three months of taking them, a feat that is not easy to achieve. She is now a successful real estate agent at The Agency! Haus.

Sunjai's journey has not been without challenges. Her first year as a real estate agent was tough, as she lost her brother, which put her life on pause. But with the support of her family, she kept going. Sunjai's long-term goal is to be a top-producing agent in real estate and further her acting career. She also has a few businesses with her mom and sisters in the works.

In a recent questionnaire, Sunjai shared some personal details about her upbringing, her passion for dance, and her journey into the world of real estate and entrepreneurship. Sunjai was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. Her parents separated when she was younger, but they co-parented effectively, ensuring that Sunjai and her three siblings were always taken care of. Sunjai is grateful for the support of her family and credits them for her success. "My best support system is my mom, dad, sisters, and (RIH) my brother. Without them and their support throughout my entire life, I don’t know where I would be. There were several times when I wanted to give up on something but neither of them wouldn’t let me, they motivated and pushed me to keep going, and that played a major part in me becoming the young lady that I am today. It is so easy to give up that’s why it’s important to have a good support system. Life is about trial and error. You live and you learn and I learned to just keep going."
